RIP Dennis Ritchie (Creator of C)

It seems like most developers love to wage war on one another about the tools they use.

A lot of developers start flame wars about how the tools they use make them more superior. How if you don’t program in C++ with VIM you have no skills and it makes you less of a developer.

It’s like saying a screw driver is better than a hammer and if you use a hammer then you’re an idiot.

Probably those people who complain about something, or make something sound like it’s totally stupid, when all they should understand from that is that they know NOTHING about programming (and the logic used for programming).THAT. DAMN. LOGIC.

Or those repeating forever and everywhere that maths is f*cking useless. But this doesn’t apply specifically to Tumblr, it applies everywhere, and from what I’ve seen, it’s actually far worse outside Tumblr. So let’s stick to the first option.

What ? YES ! Maths, logic and programming are my life.

Going on your whole people saying math is useless. It reminded me of someone back in college. We were in math class and she was complaining how she’ll never need to use any of this in her career. She wanted to be a computer programmer.

I was told Real Programmers don’t develop using .NET.

Real Programmers write in C++. All real applications are written in C++.

Real Programmers don’t care what tool they’re using. They are problem solvers, they understand software design, they understand data structures and they understand algorithms.

A real programmer is able to develop software with the right tool for the job.

Ok, so after working with ASP.NET MVC for a while, I’m beginning to like it. I still like webforms and still see projects that would be be better done in webforms, but MVC has it’s place too.
